Learning a language using the internet, online sources and tips.

A really great way would be to actually live in the country whose language you wish to learn, but what if you cannot? then the language learning itself will teach you a lot of things, it can give you the confidence to learn anything. So here are my tips:

-Have some background information about sentence formation of the language you already speak, a German saying says, “you cannot know your own language really well, unless you know a foreign language”, so it will be a journey of actually having a deeper understanding of your own language.

-Don't stress out, start with the basics and do it slowly, I guess atleast 2 years.

-Learn some grammar even though informal version of the language can be a bit different but still Grammar actually helps, also try to learn tiny bits of phrases, try to learn grammar by understanding the formation of phrases you already know, it should stick-in with your mind in this way.

-You should try Duolingo, it is for free and it’ s amazing, it is like a course and they go through all the topics, something for which they have my respect. They don't have a course for a lot of languages.

-Use Michael Thomas meathod, download the pdf for free and complete it, it’ s amazing and I mean it. Won't work for a lot of languages. It doesn't have a course for a lot of languages.

-Don't use just one app or platform because you may get bored, plus nobody really teaches you everything.

-Actually use the language, this way it stays with you and you also get an idea as to which words have to be learnt and which ones have to be ignored, in the beginning, atleast.

-There are few apps which allow you to interact with native speakers. For eg: Hellotalk. You will learn words which are likely to be used in a conversation and you will also sound more natural. The great thing about Hellotalk is that you can have conversations with native speakers and you also see posts in the language you wish to learn in which you can also adjust the level of difficulty.

-Read through discussions over various forums to clear your doubts.

-Use nursery books.

-After gaining some ground you can watch videos on Youtube, read through news and a lot of other things like listening to speeches.

-Try to use all forms of learning a language, learn both written and spoken form of the language simultaneously.

-If you are looking forward to learning Spanish, French, German, Romanian, Portuguese or any of the Romance languages use Wikitonary.com and etymology.com to look out for etymologies.

If the language you are looking forward to learning is Spanish:

-Do look out for videos from Gringoespanol.com

-Use Spanishdict.com , try discussions from forums.

-Use etymology of words.

-Watch Extra Espanol, they speak rather slowly.

If the language you are wishing to learn is Arabic:

-Get some background information on the language, there are a lot of dialects and we also have Modern Standard Arabic.*

-You will get the pdfs for free from the website. http://kalamullah.com/learning-arabic.html they are actually books.

-Duolingo will soon have a course on Arabic.

-If you are a muslim you can start with Quranic Arabic you can have a 9 hours course for free on Youtube by Dr. Abdul Aziz, I think he is amazing.
