Fear or insecurities and building self-confidence

Poverty makes it difficult to focus on long term goals it will keep you from studying, training or skill development. The fear of poverty can make you focus on short term pleasures like taking drugs or alcohol, or telling everybody about great ideas and plans that you have to make it big in the future.

Before I say anything let me tell you what exactly I mean by Poverty, Poverty doesn't necessarily correspond to lack of material possesion, in this age of abudance, poverty can also correspond to one' s insecurities. It is well known to psychologists and the laymen alike that poverty is a state of mind, Poverty is debilitating, Research papers point out that poverty makes it difficult for a mind to focus on long term goals, as ironic as it may sound, it makes it difficult for a mind burdened by poverty to free itself of poverty. In his book The Law of Success, Napolean Hill states that the symptoms of the fear of poverty are inability to focus on one thing, wasting one' s time and being too sensitive, are you suffering from one of these?

To escape this mental state of misery one must assess the circumstances. But logical assessments aren't enough, being able to reason out the harmful effects of consuming alcohol is not the same as not consuming alcohol. The fact of the matter is that a lot of decisions that humans take are taken by the subconscious mind, and not by the consious mind. Subconscious mind is the seat of beliefs. Now you may say that everybody likes Alcohol, if so then you are wrong, we didn't know about alcohol when we were born, the people who don't consume alcohol are less likely to consume. So the propensity towards consuming alcohol has to do with our emotional experiences and our beliefs, and by beliefs I mean the subconscious mind type of belief.

Poverty is disbelieving oneself but how do we end up disbelieving ourselves? It is because our surrounding has instilled in us fear and continues to do so, it is not uncommon to see people speaking ill of others, people complaining about their life and their work, people not being content with what they have and people complaining about being weak, nobody I tell you is weak for man is the finest of God' s creations, with so much nonsense being drilled into our minds it' s perhaps not so surprising.

There is a saying in my language "A lie told a hundred times becomes the truth", Hitler too once said something like this and Psychology too states the same.

A lot of people fear poverty because deep down they too think lowly of the poors, and all of us probably think lowly of the poors. If you start respecting everybody you may be able to escape from the fear of poverty. We should respect everybody because we don't know the circumstances a person has to face.

What would be the solutions to deliver a blow to the fear of poverty? One old school trick is to write something similar to "I can succeed" somewhere so you would get to read it everyday. But does it work? Not really afteral Humans are social animals. So a better solution I suppose would be to not complain and be respectful and not get into unnecessary discussions. One must make it a point to seek friendship among those who are of the right nature, so as to not be influenced by bad things, bad things can easily become a part of your psyche without you even realising it. Also don't be a person who Complains and keeps blaming other people.

Writing on a wall and imagining that you are already successful will actually give you the pleasure one gets from becoming successful, so what will it do? It will keep you from doing the hardwork.

Whatever you speak and listen to has an effect on what you believe and what you do. But listening to and speaking about things are not the only things that lead to the formation of beliefs.

Listening to good things is still not enough the final and most decisive blow you need to give to the fear of poverty is to back whatever you say and think with actions. You don't have to do big things all the time. You just have to do little things. Read your book or whatever. It is said that Beginning is the most difficult part. With little things that you do you will be able to form a chain. If you actually do what you are planning to you will be able to form a precedent. Taking help from others any experience creates a precedent.

You have to actually do things, when you do things you have an experience and you will be able to form a precedent for your mind and if you don't do it now you are unlikely to do it in the future unless you know something terrible will happen.

If you don't take actions it will also form a precedent for your mind. Of all things taking the actions is the most important part if you have an experience of doing it yourself you will not really care about what others have to say, woah it can make you strong.

  1. One special trick.

I am going to plan out what goals I have to meet by the end of the day. So that goal will bring me closer to my actual real goal. I may have a lot of things to do but I will see to it that I actually achieve my goal for the day, so as to ascertain that I am actually achieving something and not just being busy.

Life is a marathon it is a sprint. You have to achieve something and you have time for that so don't be impatient but make sure that you are actually moving towards your goal and not just lying idle.
