Book review- The Millionaire Next door.

It is a book that I have read myself and I really want you to read it. The authors have conducted a lot of surveys. Their findings, that millionaires are more likely to be found in middle-class and not in more affluent communities, came as a surprise even to the authors.

The book offers the profile of an average American millionaire, The book states that people who live a fairly simple life are the ones who are most likely to become millionaires, they are married and have passed the age of 50. The main theme of this book is the importance of saving money. One really good thing about this book is that the authors have included a lot of surveys, which will make you take the author more seriously, One survey shows that 80% of American Millionaires are self made millionaires, so not being born to rich parents is not so much of an issue.

The author also talks about the superiority of self employment over having a job. The authors also go on to state that starting early gives you a very strong edge over people who are geniuses. It is an interesting book, the book is full surveys so you would know that the author is not throwing non-sense at you. The book has covered a lot of things, it talks about spending habits, buying a house, family life and also a bit of family politics, educational and career choices and ofcourse the mindset of a millionaire. The book states that a millionaire man is more likely to have a wife with similar spending habits. Taking advantage of the fact that USA is a fairly international place, the authors have also analysed the country of origin of those who are most likely to become millionaires, the analysis aims to analyse the kind of culture that is best suited for producing millionaires. The authors have also analysed the kinds of Professionals who are most likely to become millionaires, the Analysis hightlights how difficult it is for a doctor or lawyer to become a millionaire.

  2. One special trick.

I am going to plan out what goals I have to meet by the end of the day. So that goal will bring me closer to my actual real goal. I may have a lot of things to do but I will see to it that I actually achieve my goal for the day, so as to ascertain that I am actually achieving something and not just being busy.

Life is a marathon it is a sprint. You have to achieve something and you have time for that so don't be impatient but make sure that you are actually moving towards your goal and not just lying idle.
